I had no idea what to expect when I took my Asperger’s course, but it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my academic career. The course was taught by John Van de Ruit, a professor at the University of Illinois. He is well experienced as an instructor, having taught classes on nearly everything that can be found on the syllabus of a standard college curriculum. I found most of the topics interesting and were impressed with his knowledge of the subject matter. He also made me feel at home from the first day, as the environment seemed to mesh well with my personality.
So why did I decide to take my ASP Exam through University of Illinois? I have always considered myself to be an introvert, but taking my ASP offered me the chance to see how I would do in the real world outside of the classroom. Since I am not the type to talk to a room full of people in any sort of extroverted manner, having this opportunity to get out of the classroom and interact with others allowed me to gain a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. By sharing these thoughts with an expert teacher, I gained a deeper understanding of myself, which helped me tremendously when applying for college.
After my coursework had completed, I went to see what sort of information I could find on the web regarding studying for my ASP Exam. What I found surprised me to a great extent, as there was so much information available. I would have normally studied with a private tutor, but found that there were plenty of free books and study guides on the internet that covered everything I needed. I was even able to download a study guide so that I would have all the materials I need right in front of me.
When you take an ASP course, you receive a study guide that contains everything you would ever need to study for the exam. Included are the topics on Windows, database security, programming, and networks. A lot of the material is already completed in the books that you read, so all you really have to do is review the concepts and take notes. If you plan on taking more than one test, there are plenty of practice tests included in the package.
As for the actual course itself, it was designed to last a total of five months. The course consists of three hundred and sixty-five lessons, broken up into eighteen lessons. Within these lessons, there is a total of forty-five units that cover all the topics you would like to learn about. While these units are not the short term type, they do help you tremendously as you go along.
Some of the topics covered in the course include; using the Windows server, custom made websites, database security, and using the ASP hosting platform. The reason why I like this course so much is because it has helped me out so much when I wanted to take my own career in the IT field. Since I was new to this field, I never really knew where to start, and this course has definitely been helpful. It has taught me how to create my own websites, and how to secure them. Since ASP is used everywhere these days, including online banking and shopping sites, having some knowledge of how to protect your website would be very useful.
This course would not be complete without an introduction course. This one focuses on getting you setup with ASP and then teaching you how to go about configuring it on your own. Once you have done that, you are ready to get started building anything using ASP. In order to take my Asp tutorial to the next level, you would like to know some of the more advanced tips.
