Unfortunately, you are exactly what happened to me. I was just getting out of college when I found out I was pregnant with my second child. My dream was to be a stay at home mom while raising my children by myself. Unfortunately, I had to go to work so that I could support myself and my husband. It was hard to come up with money to pay for our bills, so we had to consider other options such as taking a part time job, especially after my husband went off to college. It was a hard decision because it meant that I had to take a leave from my career which would have affected my chances of getting a good job in the future.
Now, here I am almost six months pregnant and still trying to figure out how to come up with the money to start this exciting adventure. I know how important it is to save money in order to be able to enjoy your family. That is why I decided to prepare for my college entrance test. I figured that I should do my homework, so I started looking for some great sample tests that I could take online in order to learn what I needed to study for my exam.
One thing that I learned is that my tax return was going to be very important. I needed to know every single tax return that I was going to be filing. I knew that I needed to devote about a thousand hours to study for this test. This was going to require a lot of planning on my part. Since my husband is a very busy attorney, we could not afford to spend too much time on this aspect of my plan.
There were a couple of strategies that I implemented. One strategy that I worked on was to take a part-time course on tax laws. I did this for a couple of weeks, and it taught me a lot about my states tax laws. This allowed me to better understand my upcoming exam.
The other part of my plan was to get a CPA. The state that I live in requires CPAs to be licensed in order to do my taxes for me. This allowed me to spend less time studying for the exam, and more time on my business strategy. With a CPA, I could also work on my own tax return, instead of having to pay someone else to do it for me. This also saved me a lot of money.
After I took both of these strategies, I still found myself needing some additional study time. Since my husband is also a very busy attorney, this was not a problem for him. He gave me extra time to learn and take exams for me. In turn, I took extra time to read all of the information that I could find on the internet. I also spent a lot of time going through the different CPA courses that I could find.
After completing all of these steps, I found out that my plan was working. The extra study time and extra hours of work paid off for me. I was able to complete all of my required courses, and I passed the test with flying colors. All I have to do now is to take my qualifying exam for CPA. This process might be a little bit longer than what you plan, but if you are prepared you will be fine!
